The catalog presents the collection of West Mexican objects in the Rietberg Museum. These include human figures cut into stone, detailed figurines with their original painting, but also powerful, expressive clay sculptures. The works from what are now the states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Guanajuato, Michoacán and Guerrero provide an insight into a fascinating cultural region.
